For 27 years, MY DYING BRIDE from West Yorkshire have been the voice of the hopeless and broken, combining haunting sounds with crushing misery and melancholy. With their signature sound they’ve shaped the doom metal scene like barely any other act and integrated both soft violin melodies and violent death metal growls into their music, whilst always staying strictly loyal to themselves. And since the early Nineties, the band’s masterminds and founding members Andrew Craighan and Aaron Stainthorpe forged beautiful grief into twelve studio albums with songs of epic length.
However for their 13th release, the band is now bound for new horizons and proudly announces their signing to Nuclear Blast Records!
Singer and lyricist Aaron Stainthorpe comments:
“It is with great pleasure that MY DYING BRIDE can announce they will be joining forces with the formidable Nuclear Blast Records in early 2017 and have already begun working on material for the next LP and singles. It is no secret that Nuclear Blast have continued to expand greatly over the years, signing epic bands from all corners of the world and giving them the chance they deserve to make something of themselves in the ever expanding metal scene. And it’s time that MY DYING BRIDE came along for the ride. We are hoping that this wedding between a very solid label and a well established act will bear fruit of mighty proportions in the exciting years to come. Cheers!”
Since MY DYING BRIDE rarely leave their damp catacombs to perform live rituals, each show is a highlight in itself and on April 22nd, the Brits will expose their legendary album »Turn Loose The Swans« in its entire length at Roadburn Festival. Together with Shaun ‘Winter’ Taylor-Steels on drums and a special backdrop lighting, the band will haunt the Dutch stage and deliver a truly unique experience.

“An outstanding visual, musical and sensory experience. One of the most beautiful live shows to be captured in the past 20 years. Nothing less” – NOISEY
“Immersive and mesmerising, ‘Years In A Day’ shows Cult Of Luna’s unstoppable ascent to the post-metal summit.” – TERRORIZER
“A shattering visual feast of iconoclastic proportions, ‘Years in a Day’ couldn‘t be further from your mediocre live DVD. It is mind-bending and apparent proof that Swedish Post Metal titans Cult Of Luna really are as good as they say. Especially when unleashed upon a stage” – METAL HAMMER GERMANY
We’re pleased to announce we have recently added SOEN to our roster:
For those who have followed Soen’s career thus far, the concepts of journey and exploration are not new. 2012’s Cognitive beat a firmly heavy, progressive metal path. 2014’s Tellurian with its Pink Floyd explorative spirit and Opeth-like forceful power, saw Soen start to stride freely into their own power and unique visions. Their third offering, Lykaia, is a journey into earthier places, their most cohesive, powerful and congruent creative quest yet.
The album has been getting great press, some of which can be seen below:
“An explorative and colourful record, there is a lot to take in with this record, many dimensions in which to get lost in. Repeat listens bear gorgeous fruits.” – The Sludgelord
“Soen have created are meticulously crafted by musicians playing and writing at the top of their game, to produce a heavy, melodic, and frequently emotional journey of moody metal.” – Metalwani
“Utilizing a broader range of styles and leaning into each song’s topic for sonic flavor has resulted in a stunning modern prog gem. Is it too early to talk about the best records of the year?” – New Noise
“As usual, the song writing is impeccable. The band uses strong doses of melody and technique and their capacity to write great vocal lines and choruses is superb.” – Echoes & Dust
Sanguine, a four piece female fronted alternative metal/rock band from Exeter, have joined the AMF Publishing roster.
First formed back in 2004 Sanguine started as a prog-rock band…Tarin explains “we knew we loved heavier music, it just took a while for us to discover who we were, we just kept getting heavier, when I first started out I didn’t even scream!”
A few years later Sanguine formed the sound it is today, hard hitting driving metal and rock riffs, mixtures of melodies, vocal ranges which include screams and singing both from front-woman Tarin Kerrey and guitarist Nick Magee. Sanguine have created a new unique sound, jumping between styles their eclectic song writing keep you guessing what the next track will sound like. Nick explains “we know who we sound like, each song is like it’s own world. The various styles we write in do not detract from the fact that overall our songs sound like Sanguine, no one else…we are Sanguine.”
The new album BLACK SHEEP was releasd in 2016 and features tracks co-written with Jesper Strömblad (In Flames) and produced by Daniel Flores. Already receiving rave reviews from the press the album is pushing Sanguine forward into new frontiers.

French rockers KLONE join the AMF Publishing roster.
In 2010, Klone released their fourth album, “Black Days”, dark and powerful. 5 years later, “Here Comes The Sun”, the seventh production by the combo from Poitiers, shows a radiant band whose music has soared as much as it has grown. When you look closely at their discography, it’s a logical evolution: each Klone’ album is unique, each one less predictable than its predecessor. Their metal roots may have given way to an ethereal rock but the intensity of their songs, led by the voice of Yann Ligner, stays the same.
From gigs to tours throughout Europe, Klone have opened for bands such as Gojira, King’s X and Orphaned Land and have stood on the main-stage of the Hellfest. After releasing the sublime “The Dreamer’s Hideaway” in 2012, with more progressive outlines, the six musicians today offer a new journey, more captivating and meditative than ever. In “Here Comes the Sun”, Klone give each melody time to unfold. The music, the lyrics and the artwork echo each other and lead the listener to a peculiar universe where the sun is the central theme. “Here Comes The Sun” gives a whole new dimension to what Klone have offered before. It’s an album tinged with the lingering shadows of Steven Wilson, Anathema or Pink Floyd.
Kobalt, the leading independent music publisher and AMF Publishing’s administrator, announced the creation of the first global, direct, digital mechanical and performing rights society following on from Kobalt’s purchase of AMRA (American Music Rights Association) last year. Re-designed to maximize value for music rights owners and creators in the growing digital marketplace, the new society will be based on a global, direct collection structure and advanced technology, setting new industry standards for efficiency and transparency for clients in the process.
Kobalt purchased AMRA in order to further enhance its services to rights owners. AMRA’s innovative approach to music rights administration will leverage Kobalt’s advanced royalty processing platform, KORE (on license to AMRA), to provide fast, efficient royalty distribution with total transparency. Through continued partnerships with major digital service providers (DSPs) around the world, AMRA will broaden the direct-collection capabilities across the globe for all AMRA members.
The music industry as a whole is undergoing a seismic shift in order to support the evolving landscape that comes with digital music consumption. Kobalt saw these changes coming when it was formed in 2001, and has spent the past decade working to solve these issues and structural inefficiencies — first with publishing, and then label services, neighboring rights and digital distribution with AWAL. AMRA is the latest, most exciting step in Kobalt’s industry leading quest for transparency, speed and accuracy.
Willard Ahdritz, founder and CEO of Kobalt said, “With AMRA, we are now able to fully execute our original Kobalt vision of trust and technology for creators and rights owners on a global scale. AMRA allows us to offer service unlike anything ever seen before in royalty collections. The industry can no longer afford to spend $5 collecting $1 – the efficiency and transparency of AMRA is the future.”
James Fitzherbert-Brockholes, COO of Kobalt said, “AMRA’s unique strategy to license directly to the global multi-territorial DSPs [e.g. Apple, Spotify, YouTube, etc.] is the most efficient way to handle the ‘high volume/low transactional value’ of music repertoire in a streaming world. The traditional model of individual licenses across
100 local territories for one major DSP does not promote transparency, efficiency or economies of scale in today’s digital business.”

Anaal Nathrakh was created for one purpose – to be the soundtrack for armageddon, the audial essence of evil, hatred and violence, the true spirit of necro taken to its musical extremes. Since being founded in 1999, the band has gained a reputation for embodying precisely these things, with a history including not only the release of seven albums and an EP to rapturous acclaim, but collaborations with such legendary figures as Attila Csihar (Mayhem), Shane Embury and Danny Herrera (Napalm Death), Nick Barker (Testament, Dimmu Borgir), Joe Horvath (Circle of Dead Children), Sethlans Teitan (Watain) and so on. This, alongside appearing on BBC Radio 1 at the personal behest of sadly missed icon John Peel, headlining a stage at the renowned cult Inferno Festival in Norway as their debut international live appearance, countless placings in ‘best album of the year’ polls and album of the month awards in the press and cover appearances on leading magazines such as Terrorizer… Anaal Nathrakh’s status as one of the leading lights in extreme metal is undeniable.

AMF Music is excited to add post-metal band Earthtone9 to the roster. From Nottingham the band spent nearly a decade in the deep freeze but in 2010 they resurfaced to play at both the Sonisphere and Damnation Festivals to rapturous reception. This was followed by last year’s new EP (the Pledge Music funded ‘For Cause & Consequence’) which showed a band completely renewed with vigour and enthusiasm.
And now the next stage of Earthtone9 has surfaced. The band announced that they had recorded a brand new album in the autumn of 2012 and once again they are using the fan driven mechanism of Pledge Music for its release. The campaign recently finished, where the band smashed their target at 140% of their goal.
You can catch the band live at this year’s Download Festival. Excited? We are! Get your ticket HERE
After 2 years of relentless touring in North America, Europe, Russia, China, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia and Australia, The Ocean have resurfaced with what could be their deepest and most trailblazing piece of work to date, Pelagial: a progressive musical journey, written, recorded, mixed and to-be-performed-live as one single 53-minutes piece of music. Mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Witchcraft) at Fascination Street Studios in Örebrö, Sweden, Pelagial is set to be released on April 26th / 29th (Europe) and April 30th (North America / world) through Metal Blade Records.
Pelagial will be released as a 2xCD, including a vocal and an instrumental version of the album. The CD version (on Metal Blade Records) comes in a 10-panel digipak with epic artwork by
Seldon Hunt (see mockup below). The vinyl version (Pelagic Records) consists of four 10″ vinyl records in various vinyl colours and styles, packed into 2 gatefolds.
On the 24th of February Trees of Eternity will enter Fascination Street Studios in Sweden, to begin recording new album Black Ocean. For this upcoming album they will be working with producer Jens Bogren (who has worked on albums by Opeth, Paradise Lost, Katatonia, Swallow the Sun, Soilwork etc) as well as FS recording engineer Johan Örnborg.
