Dave Young (Devin Townsend Project)

Dave Young is a Canadian multi-instrumentalist from Vancouver, British Columbia. Best known for his long-running collaboration with Devin Townsend, he has been a member of both the Devin Townsend Band and the Devin Townsend Project, initially performing on keyboards and later on guitar in the band’s live lineup alongside Brian “Beav” Waddell and Ryan Van Poederooyen. Over the course of more than a decade, he has toured extensively across Europe, North America, South America, and Australia.

In addition to his work with Townsend, Young has contributed to several recordings, including Ki, Addicted, Ghost, and Epicloud, and appeared on Alien by Strapping Young Lad. He has also been involved in numerous other projects such as Ten Ways from Sunday, Terror Syndrome, The Matinée, REGAL, and Evenlight, and has performed or recorded with artists including Misery Signals and Contrive.

Beyond his band work, Young runs a recording studio with his brother and leads the electronic solo project Auger. Known for his versatility, he plays guitar, keyboards, and several wind instruments, blending influences from ambient, rock, electronic music, and metal.
