Influenced by the likes of Cliff Burton, Sting, Rex Brown and Ian Hill, Brian ‘Beav’ Waddell played bass for The Devin Townsend Project and guitars in The Devin Townsend Band, both studio and live.
Having knows Devin since childhood, Waddell played bass on the Devin Townsend Project’s seventh studio album, Transcendence.
The record features the huge, epic sound for which Townsend is known, as well as his take on the Ween song, “Transdermal Celebration.” The band has double bass cred this time out, too, featuring not only Waddell on bass but also Periphery bassist Adam ‘Nolly’ Getgood as an engineer.
